All Scouts and adults attending Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan must supply two copies of the complete (Parts A, B, & C) BSA Medical Form. Part C must be completed and signed by a certified and licensed physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. Get a copy of that form here.
As of 05/05/2015 Scouts should be registering for Merit Badge sessions at camp. The sooner you register the better chance you will have at getting into the sessions of your choice. Click here to access the app.
Camp is again offering their Ma-Ka-Ja-Box care packages. Rather than going through the hassle of buying goodies, assembling a box, and making sure it gets mailed in time to reach your scout at camp, let them do the hard work for you!
Ordering a Ma-Ka-Ja-Box takes 5 minutes online, and they'll make sure it's delivered on the first Tuesday of your scout's stay at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan. You can even add a personalized message!
As with all Trading Post purchases, profits from Ma-Ka-Ja-Boxes directly support the programs and facilities of Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan. Not only are are saving yourself time, you’re also helping out our camp!
Boxes cost $25 (but they're taking $5 off if you order before June 6th
) and can be ordered at http://www.makajawan.com/store/box/
There are two options: Healthy and Classic (both cost the same):
In addition to the items pictured above (which includes a postcard and stamp so scouts can write home), they’re including a trash bag, a few souvenir trinkets, and a reminder not to store food in tents. New this year, each box also comes with a $2 Trading Post gift certificate (unfortunately, this cannot be spent on program tickets). As always, we do reserve the right to substitute items in case something runs out of stock.
Boundary Waters 2015
August 8-16, 2015
Cost is $300 per participant with $50 deposit due immediately.
We have two crews going in opposite directions on a loop starting from Snowbank Lake outside of Ely, MN.
Each crew is limited in size to a total of 9 people.
The trip is open to all 6th grade or older Scouts currently registered in our troop. Exceptions might be possible for newly crossed-over Webelos Scouts if they have prior experience with canoe camping or backpacking. While this is a "High Adventure" trip we are not going through the BSA canoe base and therefore the Venturing minimum age does not apply. Additionally, since we are not going through the Northern Tier Canoe Base this trip does not qualify for the Triple Crown or Grand Slam awards.
Crew #1 currently has 3 slots open.
Crew #2 currently has 2 slots open.
