Camping in the summertime can be fun! Bug spray, sunscreen, shorts, and swim trunks are all common accessories during this season. Summertime camping typically kicks off with a week at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation. A 30 degree sleeping bag is best for summer camp, some nights can dip into the upper 30s. Treating clothes with permethrin, or buying pre-treated clothing such as BugOff brand is recommended for tick prevention. 

July and Augut camping can often have a family-friendly campout, or occasionally a trip. In the past we have done trips to Devil’s Mountain & the Badlands, and out East to Philadelphia and Gettysburg.
